Where did Jain Dharma come from?

Jainism is considered an ancient religion that predates Mahavira, but its doctrines were systematized and widely propagated by Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara, around the 6th century BCE. The tradition holds that all Tirthankaras were human beings who attained enlightenment through meditation and self-realization. Historically, Magadha, in present-day Bihar, is recognized as the geographical origin where Mahavira preached his teachings, which later became known as Jainism or Jina Dharma.
